Tracy Lynne: Great set of pipes

CosmicTribune: Hi Tracy, do you consider yourself more a model or more a singer?

Tracy: A singer first...I model on the side but lately I've been booking a lot of work so I officially label myself as a model too

CosmicTribune: Were you born in New York or moved there?

Tracy: I moved here at seventeen from California

CosmicTribune: With your parents or on your own?

Tracy: On my own. I went to the american musical and dramatic academy, focusing on musical theater

CosmicTribune: You're a brave young lady moving off on your own at a young age.

Tracy: I bought a bunny a couple weeks after I moved here to keep me company...and named him pumpkin. A bad bad idea in a one bedroom with two roommates...poor pumpkin went back to the pet shop after about 4 months

CosmicTribune: Good thing about a bunny, if you can't pay your rent, at least you have lunch nearby......lol

Tracy: Oh noo lol...I actually waited until I graduated and replaced him with a dog...he's 18 pounds so there's a lot more dinner if times get tough

CosmicTribune: LoL. If you could achieve huge success, make headlines, make a lot of money, would you like it to be in modeling, acting or singing?

Tracy: Definitely singing...I'm not a charactor, I'm myself and it's the best form of expression for me

CosmicTribune: Do you write all your own songs?

Tracy: Since I'm not a musician I usually co-write with someone. I write lyrics and create the melody and they make the music happen.

CosmicTribune: Do you sit down with the intention of writing a song? Or is it more like some lyrics pop into your head at any unexpected moment and then you grab a piece of paper and write them down before you forget them?

Tracy: It really depends where I'm at in my life...I've had months where I could not write anything and sitting down and trying to force myself was horrible. It's weird because since I got my car I've had to pull over so many times and write stuff down...I guess that's one of the places where I seem to be in a clear state of mind lately. I think it's the only place where I don't feel stress, which is weird because I'm driving in New York...but even in my house I can't truely relax. I live right by the Triboro Bridge so if I park over by the water and sit and write it's awesome

CosmicTribune: Are there any songs already recorded by someone else that you'd like to record yourself, your own version?

Tracy: Oh that's a tough question. I've always loved that song "somethin to talk about" but I don't think I'd touch it... There's a song by Tim Mcgraw I'd love to do, it's called...."somethings never change" I just recently saw the show Jersey Boys and that made me want to sing nothing but Frankie Valli for the rest of my life.

CosmicTribune: Tell us about your band. Have a name?

Tracy: I've been with the guitarist a little over a year and our drummer, bass and keyboard a couple months. We're just getting ready to play our first show on the 15th - I'm so nervous. We don't have a name. It's just Tracy Lynne singin with Mike, Dave and Matt and Craig.

CosmicTribune: Are your parents supportive of your aspirations?

Tracy: Oh my parents are amazing..they had me in theater at the age of six and were always driving me back and forth from practice...they're still just as supportive. Sometimes I want to give up and they won't let me...and that's very unselfish, considering that me quitting would bring me back home to them...... Wait...maybe they don't want me home lol

CosmicTribune: Ever tried out for "American Idol" ?

Tracy: No way. My roommate did last year but I stayed home. I try to stay away from things that could limit me or put me in a category I can't get back out of. I don't want to be known as the girl who was 12th place on american idol when I go to auditions. Know what I mean?

Tracy: I just don't think I'd fit in very well on a show like that. But I love to watch it. Especially the auditions omg!!! So funny

CosmicTribune: Who would you compare your singing style to?

Tracy: I would say Cyndi Lauper in the sense that she's versatile...the way she talks and the way she sings are so different...and then she can go from girls just wanna have fun and sing time after time and it's so beautiful

CosmicTribune: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Tracy: Oh gosh that's hard. I see myself in a place where I know who I am, I'm at peace, still singing with cd distribution, whether it's through a major label or just independent...probably married. I never know where I'm going...all I know is that I'm going to face whatever I do with the same amount of determination that I have today...my biggest goal, that will come with getting older, is just being comfortable in my own skin and truely knowing who I am as an artist and as a woman...because in this business you have so many people telling you what you are or what you should be that it's really easy to get confused

CosmicTribune: Best Christmas present received or best christmas present given from the recent holidays?

Tracy: I'm going to sound so spoiled. My boyfriend got me a car....But let me say something and I mean it...no matter what someone gives you...it's the card that means the most. What they write means the most. My mom made me a book this year with all the pictures of our family from a vacation we took this summer. That was really sweet too...right up there with the car

Tracy: I love your website because it has horoscopes and I'm obsessed.

CosmicTribune: Really? I like mysterious things...."x file" type stuff. I like to keep up on that. They're out there

Tracy: Yea that kind of stuff is cool but if you think about it too much it's just scary. I saw this presentation on the solor system and how small we are in the scheme of things and I was floored. There's no way we can be the only ones...no way...space goes on forever. I can't think about it because I get anxiety lol

CosmicTribune: What part of you gets the most compliments? And what part of you never looks as good as you might wish

Tracy: I get a lot of compliments on my smile ...I struggle sometimes with my skin. It gets uneven in the winter, so without makeup it's a little red in some areas. I hate that. And I hate my arms.

CosmicTribune: Are most of your friends in the entertainment industry?

Tracy: Actually no, most of my friends aren't. It's just that I don't want to talk about it all the time. At the same time I don't try to talk to my boyfriend or non entertainment friends about my struggles and expect them to understand

CosmicTribune: Spend much time surfing the net? Favorite sites?

Tracy: Yea I do...I get a lot of my work from online. Totalaccesslive.com, onemodelplace, nycasting, youtube, and Cosmic Tribune of course!!!! I'm actually the host of a new internet show that's launching next week so I think the web is extremely important to getting out there

CosmicTribune: Biggest misconception people have about you?

Tracy: That I'm out in New York having the time of my life. I think they imagine me out in prada shoes running down the streets of New York hailing cabs like in the movies

www.myspace.com/tracylynnemusic

CosmicTribune: It's a lot of work eh? Want a back rub ? Lol

Tracy: It is a lot of work and I do want a backrub as a matter of fact lol

CosmicTribune: If you could go on a dinner date with anyone in the world, who would it be with?

Tracy: Does it have to be a man? Right now I'd go out on a dinner date with my parents...I miss them so much. I'd put them ahead of Brad Pitt.

CosmicTribune: What are you wearing right now?

Tracy: Oh this is not sexy at all lol...I'm wearing jeans a pair of uggs and a big sweatshirt. I'm always cold so you wont find me in nothing but a thong anytime soon

CosmicTribune: Last question - tell me something I don't know

Tracy: I love Neil Diamond lol No one can tell me he's not awesome.

CosmicTribune: Was fun chatting Tracy !
