CosmicTribune: Hey there ! Chanel: Two weeks later! Sorry for the delays. My schedule has been pretty hectic! CosmicTribune: Yes, it's been tough pinning you down. Want to get yourself a coffee or something? Chanel: Believe it or not I have not slept all night. For the first time in my life I have jet lag since returning from Spain. So no coffee for me. Am going to take a nap after finishing this interview! Then off to the race track this afternoon to drive around in the cars - VROOM! CosmicTribune: How was Spain, let's start there. Is it one of those "what happens in Spain, stays in Spain" ? Chanel: Spain was amazing. I was hired to host the grand opening of a club in Southern Spain called Paradise Music in Mojacar. I am really glad I got the opportunity to go since it is a part of Spain I might not ever have visited otherwise. As the puddle jumper landed in Almeria early in the morning we literally taxied along the Mediterannean Sea about 1/2 mile away from the runway with the water sparkling - pretty amazing stuff! If visiting the Castle Alhambra in Granada and eating lots of cheese and fish and drinking lots of wine counts then yes "What happens in Spain stays in Spain"! |
CosmicTribune: Have you been to Europe before?
Chanel: No this was actually my first trip to Europe so it was extra exciting. I go to London for another job next week. Both are actually very weird coincidences since I was at dinner with some friends a couple of weeks ago talking about how I had never been to Europe and feeling like an outcast since they all had. Weird how things work when you put it out in the universe! CosmicTribune: The 2 European gigs aren't related to each other? Chanel: No they are not related. Although the club I hosted has asked me to come back. The job in London is for an American client I work for a lot. Shooting commercials for Europe actually. They have a product which is going to debut on QVC in London and they have asked me to host the show. If everything goes well I will be going back on a regular basis. CosmicTribune: I checked, and when you were last in Cosmic Tribune it was waaaaay back around August, 2003. Where does the time go?? Your resume has grown considerably since then. Do you think you owe your success to hard work and good looks ..... or your appearance on Cosmic Tribune? Chanel: Definitely my appearance on the Cosmic Tribune! |

CosmicTribune: You're doing a lot of stuff on television I see Chanel: I have a film titled Hobgoblins 2 which I play Fantazia coming out early 2007. The original Hobgoblins is a cult classic was shot in the 1980's. Part 2 is made by the same director and I actually wear some of the same wardrobe! The film is either going to be really campy and cult or super cheesy - time will tell! I am also the host of a new game show called "Game On" CosmicTribune: Is acting becoming more important than modeling? Chanel: I am trying to stay in town and focus on my acting career. It is difficult when I am always out of town on different modeling jobs. I am trying to cut back on my traveling and switch my focus. I have actually been turning down a lot of jobs out of town. Unless it is a great location! Something to be said for life experience. CosmicTribune: Where is the game show broadcast on? Is Hobgoblins 2 a kids movie? Chanel: Not sure which network the game show will be on. It was originally scheduled to air on PAX and literally the night before we went live it was pulled by one of the lawyers form PAX - something about gambling?! I am not sure what the rating is on Hobgoblins 2, probably PG 13 if I had to guess. |
CosmicTribune: On your myspace page
it says "The Real Chanel Ryan". Have you had impersonators there?
Chanel: Yeah, I actually have a lot of people impersonate me. Which is strange. There is a publicity saying - Anytime people are talking about you it is good. Not sure if I agree with that but what else can I do. CosmicTribune: At your myspace page it says -- Among your favorite reading - Anne Rice and The Story of O ...some spicy spicy stuff there Chanel: I read a lot! Anything I can get my hands on really. I spend a lot of time at the airport and on planes and waiting around on the set. Right now I am reading "Awaken the Giant Within" , "The Perricone Prescription", and "The Devil Wears Prada". I skip around. CosmicTribune: In a message you sent to me you mentioned that you sleep naked (of course I pictured that in my mind ....) What are you wearing right now? Chanel: That's right I did send you that message! I do sleep naked. Wish I could tell you I was wearing something really exciting. Since I have been up all night I never got undressed for bed so I am wearing my jeans, ugg boots and a t-shirt. It is actually really cold here. |

CosmicTribune: You were in playboy, but with your clothes on. How did you pull that off? Chanel: They actually asked me to do a celebrity interview called "Babe of the Month" and I got to keep my knickers on! CosmicTribune: I'm always curious about a model's opinion on nude photos. Chanel: I do not have a problem with nudity if it is done right. I love when fashion photographers shoot really editorial style nudes. Once you go naked you can never go back. So I want to do it for the right magazine and the right reasons. Right now I have a great thing going where all the mags run layouts of me in my skivvies. I do not want to be nude in every magazine. I think it is important to have some credits under your belt and make smart decisions after you appear nude. Or use it as a launching point. CosmicTribune: Are you single, married, in relationship? Chanel: Single. Seeing someone who I like but he is a bit too random and it is difficult since I am out of town so much. My goal for 2007 is to have a boyfriend!! I had a serious boyfriend for a long time and we broke up about 1 1/2 years ago and I just was not ready for another serious relationship until recently. I think relationships are hard no matter where you live or what you do but especially in LA where everyone is always looking for the bigger better deal. |
CosmicTribune: If you could go on a dinner date with anyone in the world, who would it be with?
Chanel: Harmony Corine. I just watched the movie "Gummo" for the third time. Harmony is a "He". He is the writer of a movie called 'Kids" and writer director of "Gummo". I would love to know what goes on in his head and where he gets his inspiration. Love his movies. Very disturbing. Really makes you think. CosmicTribune: What would you order for dinner and dessert? Chanel: Right now I am craving Italian food so probably some type of pumpkin ravioli and a salad. And carmel cheese cake for dessert. CosmicTribune: Have any nicknames? Chanel: Used to be called "Legs" and "Blondie" CosmicTribune: Describe yourself in 5 words? Chanel: Free spirited, impulsive, driven, focused, easy going CosmicTribune: Driven and easy going are opposites.... Is Chanel Ryan a complicated girl? Chanel: From one end of the spectrum to the other. |

Or I should have said "I don't know what you mean" CosmicTribune: Now I have all these thoughts of you tangled in a pile with another pretty model Chanel: Would love to promote my 2007 Calendar! Like how I changed the subject. Not even subtly! CosmicTribune: I had indeed intended to ask you about your calendar. Is this your 4th or 5th one? Are they fun to do? Chanel: It is my 4th swimsuit calendar. We actually are calling it "Chanel's Tropical Journey" and it has sort of an eclectic Moroccan theme . I had a blast shooting it. It was shot on location in Puerto Vallarta Mexico and "the Nest" in Malibu California. It is my favorite of all my calendars so far! CosmicTribune: I've seen some of the pics from it -- beautiful, sexy (of course!) $19.95 and it's signed by you -- would make an excellent Christmas gift! |
Chanel: I'm getting ready to shoot 2008. We are going to go somewhere tropical to shoot it.

CosmicTribune: Last question - tell me something I don't know Chanel: I raise Egyptian Dwarf Tortoises! They are rare and maybe still are becoming extinct. I have hatched about 50 babies so far and am helping to bring the population back up. Now you know I am a complete nerd! CosmicTribune: WoW. Thank you Chanel ! Chanel: I am going to take a nap!
