Ana: The girl your mom wished you had married
CosmicTribune: How are you doing Ana? Ana: Hello!!!! All is well! Just got in from walking my dog. It's a 7 pound Maltese named ZEUS CosmicTribune: As a young girl growing up first in Brazil, then America, when watching tv shows did you hope that someday it would be you appearing on tv or in magazines? Ana: I have always loved watching behind the scenes shows like behind the scenes of a photoshoot for Sports Illustrated... But I was never really hungry to be in front of the camara. I have always had the passion for pictures but never thought that one day I would be one of the girls on the covers and starring on Latin shows. I had the idea of being a Psychologist. CosmicTribune: How did you get started? Ana: In 97 I won the very known contest MISS BRAZIL/USA and then was invited to go do an interview in a known show called "DESPIERTA AMERICA" and the producer of an new upcoming show saw me and invited me to be part of it. It was called "EL BLA BLAZO" and they still do the re-runs. I stayed there from the first day till the last which ended in 2001. About 2 months later, they called me from LA that they were casting for a soap opera (spanish-UNIVISION) but I mentioned that I didnt have any acting experience but went anyway. They didn't call me for almost a month and when I had that already in the air, I receive a call that they want to hire me to STARR on the project. |
Ana: The male star was a very well known actor name EDUARDO YANEZ and I was very lucky to
start my acting career as the main character and next to amazing, top of the line actors.
CosmicTribune: It seems that once it started to happen for you, it happened fast Ana: Yes but you have to be prepared for it because if the opportunity comes and you can't handle it, it goes as fast as it comes, which has also happened. CosmicTribune: You recently attended The 7th Annual Latin Grammy Awards shows. Is it a thrill to walk the red carpet with cameras flashing? Ana: It's an amazing feeling because they are not just taking your picture, they are all (over 30 photographers) yelling your name so they can get that perfect shot. It is a thrill, a very exciting feeling. CosmicTribune: Before an awards show do you practice those red carpet poses? Ana: Ha ha ha! YEEEESSS!!! As soon as I get dressed and have my make-up on, I go in front of the mirror and see which side my hair looks better... smile a lot, smile less, look sexy... do a mix to see what looks better but it doesn't work because I always end up smiling a lot or laughing. CosmicTribune: How are the after-show parties? Do they get very wild? Ana: Well, they are just normal parties. Some with music and lots of dancing. Some are just hanging around and reminiscing with friends. And by the way, those parties are amazing to make contacts (workwise) There is also a big advantage that instead of having DJ only, we actually have the artist go and peform or they are attending the party themselves. CosmicTribune: I read these comments: "To speak with Ana Carolina is like caressing the sky" and "a free-spirited brasilera" and "the most beautiful latina" Nice compliments !!! Describe yourself in 5 words. Ana: Charismatic, lovable (I won this tiltle back in school he he), smart, chocoholic, intense CosmicTribune: Any idea why Brazil produces so many beautiful girls? Ana: he he he! We do have amazing, beautiful and very talented girls, example "VICTORIA SECRET" models, WOW, they are gorgeous. Well, It must be something in the water he he |
CosmicTribune: Are most of your friends in the entertainment business?
Ana: My closest friends are from back in the days when I didn't work in the entertainment world yet. I know many many many people but true friends are few CosmicTribune: Ever have an embarrassing moment on a photo shoot or acting assignment? Ana: Well, I don't think of anything extraordinary. I always have fun in my shoots and tend to laugh a lot but nothing embarrassing. In the beginning maybe when my boob would pop up from a low cut top but now I just look down and fix it ha ha CosmicTribune: What are you wearing right now? Ana: ha ha! I like to be very comfortable. It's a little chilly in here so I'm wearing flannel pants and a yellow top. I have my hair in a pony tail, pearl earrings and just put some strawberry lotion on ha ha. CosmicTribune: Your fans received a bit of a scare just a few weeks ago - Ana Carolina Reston, another Brazilian model, died of anorexia complications - Did many people confuse you with her? Did you know her? |

Ana: Yes, that is a very sad situation. I didn't know her and I think she called lots of attention not because she was known in the world but because of the stereotype problem we are having that models need to be as skinny as possible. I had tons of e-mails and many phone calls due to the coincidences of the names, country of birth, hobbies... But I actually had a friend call and say, "Ana, as soon as I heard the cause of the death, I knew it wasn't you" That's because my close friends know how much I eat and how I don't live without eating sweets at least once a day. Ana: May she rest in peace. CosmicTribune: Have any nicknames? Ana: Yes, my dad has called me BIGUGA since I was little, my mom NICO. I also have TITI MONKEY. he he. Don't ask, they might sound weird to you though they are beautiful to me he he CosmicTribune: Who would you go out to dinner with if you could choose anyone in the world? Ana: Can it be GOD?? I think it would be cool asking questions like, do you ever sleep?? How can you handle so many voices calling for you for help? Is everything that people wrote in the Bible true? |
CosmicTribune: What would you order for dinner and dessert?
Ana: I would order a bottle of red wine (even tough I don't drink alcohol) but just due to respect to Jesus. A cheese pizza, salad with a 1000 Island dressing, and one of those chocolate cakes that are warm with creamy sauce inside with a scoop of ice-cream CosmicTribune: What's a typical Ana Carolina exercise routine to stay in shape? Ana: I love every type of aerobic classes, kick-boxing, Zumba... If not, I tend to do 40 minute cardio but I'm not too fond of the weights. CosmicTribune: Married, single, in relationship? Ana: In a relationship. I'm very happy!! As I mentioned before, LIFE IS FULL OF SURPRISES CosmicTribune: Do you spend much time surfing the internet? Favorite websites? Ana: No, I use it just for e-mails or to look for an address. Just for your information, it's NOT ME in the Myspace.com or Hi5, he he! Others use my pictures and info to stay in contact with people. I don't mind as long as they are respectful and don't make me look bad. |

Ana: I'm not sure but over 20 CosmicTribune: Do you have any secret talents we don't know about? Ana: I can wiggle my nose like SAMANTHA (the genie) CosmicTribune: (She was a witch!) That answer would be a better answer for my next question - tell me something I don't know Ana: ha ha ha! Well, don't worry, I have others. I can open my toes and make them look like duck feet. I call them aquatic feet, ha ha! But I have cute little feet. CosmicTribune: Strange, I looked closely at your pics and didn't even notice that you HAD feet. LoL Ana: ha ha ha!
